Process Engineer

To coordinate the implementation of new projects for injection molding, develop injection molding technology and improvement projects for the purpose of producing quality products, finding cost reductions and elimination of wastes To be involved in process improvement, troubleshooting, project management, cost analysis, design validation, design recommendations in compliance with customer requirements and specifications.



Supports the design and development of new injection, transfer and compression molding projects, to include system debug, interactive testing, design validation, design recommendations, simulation, reliability analysis and quotations support. Works closely with various engineering & production teams to ensure proper transition of new processes into production. Manages & updates various databases to ensure proper documentation, tracking of project status & requirements.


Identifies, with assistance of other technical resources, root causes of molding and secondary operation issues and implements corrective actions, process control plans, improves problem- solving tools and resolves processing issues. This includes pursuing scrap reduction and cost reduction activities. Ensures quality of the product, including full authority to stop production if the product quality is determined to be unacceptable.


Engineers equipment, facilities and processes including daily activities as well as major projects, provides technical support, develops and coordinates continuous improvement projects and supports TS 16949/ISO 14001 initiatives.


Participates in various new product launch activities such as the quotation process, part design, prototype & production tool design, mold flow analysis.


Supports Production and Manufacturing Engineering through participation in continuous improvement activities, Kaizen events, trouble-shooting efforts and development of value-added activities.


Provides direction to various departments to meet internal & external requirements. Provides specific process training to the new and current employees, give support to them in all issues and solving production and tools problems.


Performs other duties and assumes accountabilities as apparent or as delegated, including mutually agreed upon objectives.

Background/Experience Preferred:
*Education:BS degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience and experience in injection molding manufacturing engineering. Green Belt desirable, Leadership skills, Self-motivated, Auto-directed, Automation's, tooling and secondary equipment knowledge.
*Experience:Knowledge of engineering fundamentals. Engineering background with injection molding experience. Working knowledge of relevant technology with emphasis on injection molding, SPC, DOE, and GT & T. Detailed knowledge of mold and part design. Cost Estimating skills are desireable. Knowledge based management techniques. Classification to be determined by degree plus experience, 0-1yr.Eng I, 1-3 yr., Eng II, 3-6 yr., Eng III, 6+yr. and superior performance, Sr. Eng, 12+yr. and superior performance, Chief Eng.
