Description/Duties:

1.

Aids production manufacturing in resolving on- going daily problems with molds or compounds to lower cycle times and produce higher quality product. Assists in the development of maintenance and cleaning procedures on molds. Monitors and make recommendations for process improved mold installation capabilities.Evaluates daily production metrics and coordinates the implementation of process / productivity improvements.

Works with projects to enhance cycle reduction and quality improvement in all phases of production. Inventories auxiliary accessories. Originates and maintains current activity for all process projects. Monitors process quality. Maintains full authority to stop production if the product quality is suspect.

Completes evaluations involving KV molds, KK tools, new injection, transfer and compression molds for dimensions checking and lab verification. Provides customer sampling and/or responds to other requests from Engineering or Customer Service. Provides updates on project status to Engineering.

Assists with Watertown employee training on injection, coldpot, transfer and compression molding.

Provides communication to Production Control and Engineering pertaining to issues impacting production schedules. Trouble shoots program / press related issues and coordinates with Maintenance any PM or repair work as required.

Assists in mold evaluation reporting.

Performs other duties and assumes accountabilities as apparent or as delegated, including mutually agreed upon objectives.
RELATIONSHIP TO OTHERS:
Works daily with Production Control, Engineering Teams, Product Launch and Manufacturing Engineering, Salaried and Hourly workforce and the assigned Chemist for the Watertown facility.

DIMENSIONS OF POSITION:
Responsible for resolving technical molding issues associated with injection molding including tooling and process. Involved in performing requested test set-ups as directed by the Engineering. Report results to Technical/Engineer, Lab, Engineering and Injection Committee. Highly involved with encouraging all members within the company in continuous process and quality improvements. This position does have the autority to shut down production due to quality related issues.


Background/Experience Preferred:
*Education:2 Year Technical Degree or at least 5 years equivalent experience.
*Experience:Injection molding experience preferred. Manufacturing or automation process experieance required. Computer literacy and excellent interpersonal skills required.
