2nd Shift Supervisor

Position Details:

Description/Duties:
1. Performs material testing and recording as required to meet quality and delivery targets.

2. Monitors production and quality levels in the Milling department. Communicates production activities and requirements to necessary personnel. Promotes productivity and quality improvements to appropriate personnel. Participates in production problem solving and process adjustments. Participates in Lean Systems and continuous improvement initiatives and projects.

3. Maintains accurate employee records including attendance, performance reviews and other critical incident reporting. Maintains a positive, motivational work environment for all employees. Administers corrective disciplinary action when necessary, as well as positive reinforcement to employees.

4. Participates in safety activities, including safety tours, training and accident/incident review. Aids in developing and reviewing JSA's for areas of responsibility.

5. Ensures on time delivery of proper training for employees. Reports maintenance issues and helps to coordinate necessary maintenance activity as required.

6. Performs other duties and assumes accountabilities as apparent or as delegated, including mutually agreed upon objectives.

Relationship to others:
Direct contact with all production employees. Team oriented working relationship with all appropriate personnel and staff.

Dimensions of Position:
Responsible for all production and inspection activities on the shift. Monitors and enforces company policies regarding safety and attendance. Troubleshoots problems regarding the manufacture of mixed rubber and finished goods products. Ensure the training needs of the production employees are met.

Background/Experience Preferred:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience: 5+ years in rubber manufacturing preferred
Familiarity with Total Quality Management, J.I.T., M.R.P. II systems and problem solving skills preferred.
Positive interpersonal skills is a requirement.
