1.

Directly oversees the shifts production efficiency, safety, and quality of production produced by employees in the Litchfield Plant through use of process indicators, monitors and proper shift management in all production warehouses in Litchfield. Ensures proper communication and management on the performance indicators and duty delegation. Ensures employees have the needed skills and training.

Interacts with production scheduling and management to comply to shipping commitments and manufacturing requirements and effective management of the production areas utilizing the available lead staff, maintenance and other support staff.

Actively participates in problem solving and CAR teams. Proactively looks for ways to enhance output or improve quality or safety. Actively supports and drives continued certification to ensure compliance with quality and environmental standard certification guidelines / requirements. Responsible for quality and has the authority to stop production if necessary to correct quality problem. Ensures total support of quality and improvements.

Responsible for the safety of production employees. Ensures compliance to all rules, policies and work instructions.

Responsible for employee feedback and coaching on performance. Ensures the proper entry of labor transactions, and absence codes. Performs periodic Employee Involvement Meetings and communications.

Ensures proper monitoring and data recording in various charts, attainment tracking, BPCS, work orders, etc.

Performs other duties and assumes accountabilities as apparent or as delegated, including mutually agreed upon objectives.


RELATIONSHIP TO OTHERS:
Direct contact with production employees and other shift supervisors. Consults and reports on production proficiency to other plant supervision, Operations Manager and Plant Manager. Frequent contact with scheduling and maintenance to support efficient operation of the production areas.

DIMENSIONS OF POSITION:
Delegates and monitors all functions of supervisory area and production employees. Communicates with other production supervisors on all shifts regarding day to day activities including scheduling of jobs. department proficiency (quality and efficiency), and maintaining and ordering of supplies for their departments. This position does have the authority to shut down production due to quality related issues.


Background/Experience Preferred:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

*Education:High School degree required and post high school education or equivalent experience in management, rubber & plastic technology or engineering desired. In addition electronics and hydraulics background is preferred. SPC, Quality Control training, Supervisor training and/or Molding training desired.
*Experience:3 years experience as a manufacturing supervisor or lead person is required with 3-5 years in Injection Molding and/or assembly experience desired. Applied knowledge of SPC, quality principals, and production control techniques preferred.
