1.

Directs the plant technical staff towards continuous improvement of customers product through corporate and plant systems.

Directs Product Team technical staff to exceed production efficiency targets, schedule cycle time reduction, achieve labor efficiency increases and make factory improvements.

Provides customer product quality and satisfaction, via use of new product process mapping systems.

Uses problem solving input on individual projects using a team approach such that quality and customer satisfaction is maintained.

Provides support with other team managers for an "Engineering Guidelines" system, which will document methods and procedures for Team Engineering.

Works with manufacturing managers to maintain an awareness of capacity issues, as they relate to specific work centers or equipment within production.

Responsible for quality and has the authority to stop production if necessary, to correct quality problems.

Performs other duties and assumes accountabilities as apparent or as delegated, including mutually agreed upon objectives.

RELATIONSHIP TO OTHERS:
Supports the activities of all team members. Frequent contact with manufacturing managers, sales management and representatives, research lab, purchasing and tool shop, internal and external customers. Works effectively in a team environment contributing to team goals and objectives.

DIMENSIONS OF POSITION:
Responsible for the direction of the Engineering Product Team. Authorized to make necessary decisions to accomplish the product team objectives. This position does have the authority to shut down production due to quality related issues.


Background/Experience Preferred:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

*Education:Desirable to have Manufacturing Engineering degree or a technical degree with equivalent experience.
*Experience: 5+ years in a molding design, tooling, or manufacturing environment within the rubber or plastics industry preferred. Supervisory experience desired.
